Beautiful property, gracious hosts, luxurious accommodations. Reasonable room rate includes full breakfast. No comparison to any local hotel/motel or other B&B. Hard to find on internet unless you know the name of the place--CHAPARRAL RETREAT. Will definitely stay there again

This home turned into B&B is a great place to stay if you want a quiet, comfortable, friendly get-away. The house is tucked away between garden spaces and trees. Each bedroom has a private bathroom and exit to its own deck. There is a public patio with an outdoor fireplace and wood-fired oven. A perfect setting for a special weekend (birthday, anniversary, honeymoon) or while visiting Roman Nose State Park which is just one mile away.
This review is a bit overdue. My wife and I stayed in the Texas Room more than a few months ago and we absolutely loved it! Everything about the place screams comfort. And the hosts have some sort of special magic they do. They are extremely friendly and helpful when you want them around, but when you're looking for some quiet time, they magically vanish. It's like they have their finger on the pulse of the guests' needs. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and even have some interesting artifacts at the guesthouse.
Coming from a big city to Watonga, OK; I had low expectations as far as hotels were concerned. The Chaparral Retreat & Guesthouse was by far the BEST feature about my trip. Extremely relaxing, easy to come and go, and I was thoroughly entertained by every possible personal touch for the stay.
